At Tranquil Horizon Behavioral Health, we believe that effective support for children and adolescents requires a strong partnership between our team and parents/caregivers. This policy outlines our communication methods and expectations for caregiver involvement to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
The information on this page applies to all divisions of Tranquil Horizon Health & Wellness of Central Texas.

Parent/caregiver responsibility
As a vital part of the support process, we rely on parents and caregivers to actively participate in their child's or dependent's journey.
This includes:
✅ Enrolling the child and providing accurate, up-to-date information during intake.
✅ Reinforcing strategies, goals, and behavior plans between sessions.
✅ Ensuring the child is available, prepared, and in a distraction-free space for each session (virtual/online).

Communication channels
We utilize several communication channels to keep you informed and involved:
✅ Email, secure messaging, or scheduled calls/video: These are our primary means of communication.
✅ Response Time: Non-urgent messages will receive responses within 24–48 business hours.
✅ Texting: Available for brief updates or scheduling changes only (if applicable).

Session follow-up & collaboration
To ensure continuity of care, we provide the following:
✅ Session summaries, strategy notes, or follow-up recommendations as needed.
✅ Participation in progress check-ins, brief consultations, or scheduled parent sessions may be required depending on the service tier and individual need.
Family engagement
Depending on the client's age and needs, family engagement may include:
✅ Caregivers being present or nearby during sessions for younger children or those needing guided support.
✅ Participating in behavior planning, home strategy implementation, and milestone monitoring when applicable.
✅ All communication will follow professional and privacy standards.
✅ Families communicating respectfully with staff and upholding agreed-upon boundaries.
